Food used to be a simple pleasure. But lately, it seems there are a million things to worry about when it comes to food. Even buying a plain-old bunch of carrots can induce anxiety: Are they local? Are they organic? How much vitamin A do I need anyway?
And then there's the "personal is political" stance taking over many modern American kitchens. These are the raw-whole-natural-organic-local-fair-trade types who oppose the mainstream industrialization of food and food distribution. One example: the recent viral post published by BuzzFeed that lists some of the alarming health horrors linked to chemicals in everyday favorites like Froot Loops and milk.

Manual joint adjustments and stretching should be used as part of the care of osteoarthritis particularly of the hip, according to the latest gold standard recommendations published by the UK National Institute of Clinical Evidence (NICE).
The New Zealand Chiropractors' Association points out that manual care as practised by chiropractors is highlighted in the new recommendations citing strong evidence for the benefit of joint adjustments alone compared with exercise instead of early use of pharmaceuticals.

Pain in the jaw joint, or temporomandibular joint dysfunction (TMD), is a common complaint for many people. In fact, a 2009 publication reported that TMD affects between 20-30% of the adult population, typically between 20 and 40 years old.
TMD is also the second most frequent cause of orofacial pain after dental / toothache pain. While acute TMD (pain less than three months) and chronic TMD (pain more than three months) are NOT considered to be life-threatening, they can significantly alter one's quality of life and for some, can be quite disabling.

Most Off-the-track Thoroughbreds (OTTBs) need some chiropractic care. Their hips are slammed from behind in the starting gate, their heads are twisted sideways by the pony horse or on the hot walker.
They are strong animals - they resist and pull muscles. Just as we humans can benefit from good chiropractic care, followed by stretching exercises to help us stay aligned, so do horses.

Between December 17-20, 2014, measles arrived at the happiest place on earth and all hell broke loose. Anti-vaxxers were shamed and maligned by everyone from Jon Stewart, Jimmy Kimmel to Dr. Richard Pan.
According to the California Department of Public Health's latest measles surveillance report (3/6/15), since December of 2014, there have been 132 confirmed measles cases reported in California residents out of a population of 38.8 million. 40 cases visited Disneyland during the period in question. 81% were not hospitalized. 56% were over the age of twenty. 18% were between the ages of five to nineteen. 19 cases were between the ages of one through four. 15 cases were under the age of one. This affected exactly 34 kids from birth to age four. Since the Sandy Hook elementary school shooting in December of 2012, there have been 109 school shootings and no legislation. There is no measles epidemic. There is, however, an epidemic of vaccine legislation.

There are some babies who are as good as gold and spend all day cooing and smiling at people, and then there are those others the ones that cry from day one, for months on end.
Infantile colic is defined as babies under three months old crying for more than three hours a day. Doctors are still out on the cause of colic. Some people attribute it to gas, undeveloped intestines, a food allergy or just general disposition. Some researchers are now looking at the possibility that the baby's back and spine may be part of the problem.

When it comes to health and nutrition, it seems like everything old is new again. Many foods or health protocols that used to be commonly enjoyed were later attacked and discredited by industry-funded "scientists" trying to sell toxic substitutes.
Before the rise of factory foods, nearly all food was local. As a result, it was also far healthier and more nutritious than today's centrally-manufactured, distributed foods (think McDonald's Chicken McNuggets). Now, thanks to the rise of the local food movement, CSAs and farmers markets, local food is popular again. It also happens to be ecologically sustainable. If humanity is to survive the next century, it must do so by learning how to produce local decentralized food.
