It may sound like something out of "Star Trek" but makers of low-intensity "cold" lasers say the devices treat a broad range of pain and swelling, and may even heal a fracture.

Physicians say there is some credible scientific evidence for cold lasers, but beware of exaggerated claims. Be skeptical of very low-powered lasers, such as Erchonia's, which is five milliwatts.

EVERY year two million Australians are affected by back pain. Chiropractors such as local Sol MacKenzie of MacKenzie Chiropractic are asking Australians to focus on posture during national Spinal Health Week.

Mr MacKenzie said chiropractors used to focus on more technical aspects of healing but were now looking at the importance of diet, exercise and posture to improve health. Many people with office jobs could spend eight hours a day sitting, which created a set posture, he said.

A couple of weeks ago I published a post on how to stay healthy and productive at your computer.

The article's headline was very deliberately worded, because although we would all like to be healthier, it often isn't as much of a priority as it should be. On the other hand, most of us will jump at the chance to improve our productivity. Well, today I'm back for more. This time around I want to teach you about the surprising history behind ergonomics, how it can help you make more money, and what you need to know about setting up your very own ergonomic workstation.

Coles' prices may be down down but one man has accused the company of helping consumers get up up on a drug induced high, selling Marjoram willy nilly.

The herb, with sweet pine and citrus flavors, is synonymous with oregano, with varieties including sweet marjoram, knotted marjoram, and even "pot" marjoram. It goes brilliantly with roast chicken, tomato based dishes and quiche. There are no known cases of it causing a disorientation, lack of physical coordination, often followed by hysterical laughing, paranoia or sudden and unexplained craving for snack food.

SANTA CLARITA - For one southland family, nothing is too extreme when it comes to pet care. The Bjorkmans really consider their ten-year old dog, Chomp, a part of the family.

So much so, that they treat him no different from their kids when it comes to his health. They called the chiropractor. Phillip Pinto, a chiropractor doctor based in Newhall, about 30 miles north of Los Angeles, specializes in skeletal adjustments in animals.

Numerous health professionals are evermore stressing the great health benefits of earthing.

Various studies have proven the healing effects of earthing, which has surprisingly been found to be more powerful than the use of antioxidants, pain killer medication, blood sugar regulators and at times even cancer medication. Earthing provides the body with natural balancing effects, which is done by shifting and stabilizing charged particles to and from the earth. Earthing is essentially ridding your body from free radicals, pollutants and heavy metals by discharging the body through direct contact with the earth.
