Marlena was at her wit's end. At 6 weeks old, Cameron hadn't slept longer than an hour at a time, had difficulty nursing and seemed to spit up more than he ate. The pediatrician told Marlena to hang in there, that Cameron would eventually outgrow his symp

Marlena wasn't sure she could last that long. Then a friend suggested she take her baby to a chiropractor. The friend said a chiropractor had helped ease her baby's colic and had helped her baby nurse more comfortably. Marlena was skeptical, but willing to try anything. She went to a chiropractor who specializes in treating children. After three sessions with the chiropractor, Cameron was a completely different child...

For whatever reason, young athletes today are more focused and driven than ever before. As a result, some of our youth are involved in competition or training 365 days a year.

LAS VEGAS - The Neck and Back Clinics in Las Vegas, NV is encouraging patients who struggle with chronic neck and back pain to consider chiropractic care.

According to chiropractor Dr. Benjamin S. Chiropractors can be the ones to detect and treat this painful condition. The Spondylitis Association of America defines ankylosing spondylitis (AS) as "a form of arthritis that primarily affects the spine, although other joints can become involved."

This condition creates inflammation in the vertebrae that can lead to pain. If severe enough, new boney structures form, fusing portions of the spine and immobilizing it. Often this results in a forward-leaning position, most commonly affecting the sacroiliac joints (the joints where the spine meets the pelvis).

By the time my daughter May Beth was 13 months old, she'd had 11 ear infections. Each time she was given an antibiotic which caused the ear infection to go away after about a week.

We visited a family chiropractor who began adjusting May Beth. Since that time, she's had one ear infection that lasted less than two days with no medication. Her overall health has been excellent - and she can talk up a storm.

Rhett Earhart lies calmly as chiropractor Cecelia Mikles runs her hands down his spine. When Mikles reaches the bottom of his spine, she notices a little curve to the left. She extends Rhett's legs so they're straight and checks their length.

Rhett, who is 13 months old, is just learning to walk. But he's been a patient of Mikles since he was just 6 days old. "I just want him to be healthy," Dearey said. The Vancouver mom isn't alone in that desire, nor is she alone in seeking infant chiropractic care. A 2007 study estimates there are 30 million pediatric chiropractic visits each year.

"Medicine is the study of diseases and what causes people to die," Chiropractor Meleah Mauldin said. "Chiropractic is the study of health and what causes people to live."

Mauldin said her favorite part of chiropractics is witnessing the miracle of the body healing itself. A common misconception of chiropractic care is that only people with pain can benefit from the adjustments, Mauldin said.
