by K.C. Johnson
February 22, 2012
For Derrick Rose's back pain to stay away, the routine must remain. Thus, Rose admitted he will continue to visit Stuart Yoss, the Bannockburn-based chiropractor he thanked by name on TV.
Injury update: C.J. Watson missed his second straight game after suffering a mild concussion from his collision with the Nets' Kris Humphries on Saturday. The NBA implemented a new concussion policy in December. To be cleared, a player must remain symptom-free through increasing tests of exertion. Then, a league-hired neurologist must clear the player.
The Life House Chiropractic Announces Natural Treatment Solutions for Fibromyalgia
by Dr. Josh Wagner
February 21, 2012
Some 6 million people suffer from fibromyalgia, and a recent study reports that pain - more than depression, anxiety or sleeplessness -- is the primary factor behind cognitive dysfunction in patients suffering with this disorder.
According to Dr. Josh Wagner - the only Manhattan chiropractor specializing in Torque Release Technique, a drug-free, safe and natural treatment for fibromyalgia and other chronic pain disorders - the key to eliminating fibromyalgia lies in de-stressing and detoxifying the central nervous system, not in merely managing the often debilitating disorder with pain medication.

Nearly 1 in 20 Americans older than 50 have artificial knees, or more than 4 million people, according to the first national estimate showing how common these replacement joints have become in an aging population.
Doctors know the number of knee replacement operations has surged in the past decade, especially in baby boomers. But until now, there was no good fix on the total number of people living with them.

A Head Full of Pain
January 20, 2012
It pounded away at her ear - rhythmic, loud and unrelenting. The noise was always present but seemed to get worse when she lay down or turned her head a certain way. Usually it was just annoying, but sometimes it grew so loud she had trouble hearing.
A few weeks later, she suddenly felt as if she had been hit on the left side of her head with a brick. The pain was blinding. She had to leave work to lie in a darkened room. It was probably a migraine, her doctor told her, giving her a prescription for a drug called Zomig and ordering an M.R.I. of her brain. Neither the medicine nor the scans were helpful. The headache lasted two more days. After that, the occasional migraine would come and go; the whooshing noise remained constant.
Non-drug treatment works in neck pain
by Niall Hunter
January 13, 2012
Getting treated by a chiropractor and taking light exercise may be the best way to relieve neck pain, according to new research.
The support group Arthritis Ireland says the findings underline the fact that arthritis and muscular pain require more than just a drug-treatment approach. Researchers found that this type of non-medical treatment results in better outcomes than common pain relief drugs such as aspirin and ibuprofen.

And when that day comes, South Shore residents will be left with the grueling task of shoveling snow off their stoops, sidewalks and driveways. Determined to finish the task as quickly as possible, many people ignore proper shoveling techniques, leading to muscle strain and back pain. Fortunately, local chiropractors are offering tips on how to avoid discomfort while shoveling snow.

Improving Posture: Create a 24/7 Bubble of Health & Function
by Tim Brown, DC
December 30, 2011
No matter how well we've mastered our skills as chiropractors and no matter what techniques we use in our practice, our patients' patterned postural habits between office visits can dictate the level of success of our treatment plans.
One of my main motivations to become a chiropractor was my experience as an often-injured athlete. Innately, I was never satisfied with the symptom-oriented treatment the traditional medical model offered. I felt that given the right guidance, I could be doing things outside of the treatment and training room that would help my body heal faster and perhaps more effectively prevent future injury.
