The stories became far too frequent to ignore. Emails from folks with allergic or digestive issues to wheat in the United States experienced no symptoms whatsoever when they tried eating pasta on vacation in Italy.

Confused parents wondering why wheat consumption sometimes triggered autoimmune reactions in their children but not at other times. In my own home, I've long pondered why my husband can eat the wheat I prepare at home, but he experiences negative digestive effects eating even a single roll in a restaurant.

In yet another case of labeling tricks and deception where store bought food is concerned, cheese produced in the United States and labeled as "raw" at the healthfood store and specialty shops is anything but.

Organic Valley, the corporate behemoth that has gone to the Dark Side where raw, fresh, organic, health giving grassfed milk is concerned is not surprisingly the worst offender of this loophole in the USDA regulations.

As I was standing in line at the grocery store the other day, I noticed an older lady in front of me had an entire cart loaded with commercial yogurt.

I immediately felt very empathetic for her situation as she obviously was placing high importance on yogurt in her diet - perhaps to help some sort of chronic digestive issue. What is really sad is that it is virtually certain that she was experiencing little to no benefit for her efforts. This is because standard store yogurt including those squeezable yogurt tubes for kids are not the probiotic filled food that the television commercials and other advertising would lead you to believe.

This soup is properly an appetizer. Despite its simplicity, I guarantee that your guests will be overjoyed to see this coming when you walk out of the kitchen. This recipe will make four small cups of soup, but can be easily scaled up if you have more guests at your table. I generally use 1 to 2 cups of broth and one egg per person.

I've been making my own yogurt for a few years now and I don't think I'll ever go back. Not only does it actually save me some grocery money, but this homemade yogurt is seriously good. I'm eating more yogurt now than ever before.

The method I've adopted is very basic - no special heirloom yogurt cultures or fancy incubating equipment required. You could even make a batch tonight and have homemade yogurt for breakfast by tomorrow morning! All you need to make homemade yogurt is a half gallon of milk and about a half cup of yogurt.
