The Durbin amendment, # 2127, to S.B.3187 to reauthorize the FDA Prescription Drug and the Medical Device User Fees has failed on the Senate floor.

The Durbin amendment would have heaped yet more reporting requirements on supplement manufacturers with those companies who launched, reformulated, or discontinued supplements having to report those products and any changes within thirty days of the launch, reformulation, or change. What does any of this nonsense have to do with food safety? Absolutely nothing. It's all about making supplements more expensive and less affordable for the average consumer.

Over the past couple of years, I had the unpleasant experience of having bloodwork done to confirm that I am gluten intolerant, only to have it come back and say, "Nope, you're just crazy."

It's happened to scores of other people, who pass the test for the anti-gliadin antibodies but still know that their health issues directly correlate with what they eat. Now we may know why. The tests were right. I'm not gluten intolerant. I'm poison intolerant.

I love to sit by a lake, river, in the woods, anywhere outdoors in the evening after work. I take a bag of essential oils, and tap on my body's natural comfort points using Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT).

The acupressure points of the feet also are great places to apply the oils. It takes only moments to release the stress of the work day. Then I work on releasing old patterns, hurts, stress to body, mind or spirit. Once that is done I move on to envisioning the future I wish to attract. If you ever have one of those days where you wake up on the wrong side of the bed, take a few moments with these six oils. Apply on top of your head, over your heart, and to the bottoms of your feet. Your energy will shift quickly. Remember to work with intention, rubbing the oils clockwise in your hands before application.

Family doctors working closely with chiropractors to ease a patient's low back pain can lead to fast and effective treatment, a pilot project found.

Doctors reported sending fewer patients for tests and surgical specialists after an assessment and recommendations by a chiropractor during the Ministry of Health-funded study by the Ontario Chiropractic Association. The traditional route is referring patients to an orthopedic surgeon and ordering MRIs to determine if surgery is necessary, a long process and in most cases surgery is not warranted. Meanwhile, a patient can often become inactive out of fear of further aggravating the condition and simply because of the discomfort.

Your immune system attacks anything in your body that it recognizes as foreign-such as an invading microbe, plant pollen, or chemical. The process is called inflammation.

Many people suffer from chronic inflammation due to the modern diet and lifestyle. Processed food, sugar, hydrogenated and trans fats, stress, malnutrition, obesity, pollution, heavy metals and excessive exercise cause this condition, because they cause overactivity in the immune system, that can lead to joint pain, fatigue, and damage to the blood vessels. (Editor Note: GMO's are the cause of most of these ailments we morals suffer from.)

Popular cereal and snack brands in the US were reportedly found to contain "alarming levels" of glyphosate - a widely used weedkiller used on GM crops.

These best-sellers were reportedly found to contain higher than average traces of glyphosate - a widely used weedkiller used on commercially genetically modified (GM) crops. The results were uncovered by campaigning groups Food Democracy Now and The Detox Project on Monday.

My seasonal allergies have been killing me! As I told my friends, I've blown my nose so often this past month that I feel like I'm going to blow out my brains! It's horticultural homicide! My younger son has them as well, just far milder symptoms.

In past years, I have eaten crackers with brie and raw, local honey to help with seasonal allergies. The general idea is that the pollen enters your system through the honey and your body is better able to deal with it. that means that if the pollens you are allergic to are ones bees don't visit much, honey won't help much.

As they made their iconic trek from the Far East to witness the invaluable gift of the newborn King, the three wise men from the biblical account of the birth of Jesus came bearing their own gifts.

The oil of frankincense has been used for thousands of years to quell disease-causing inflammation, support heightened immunity, and prevent dangerous infections. But many people remain unaware of the added cancer-fighting potential of this precious serum, which researchers from the University of Leicester in the UK (among others), have confirmed through rigorous scientific testing.

Epsom salts have been used to treat a variety of health ailments by numerous cultures for centuries. Epsom salt baths have astounding health benefits and are an excellent way to deĀstress and detoxify the whole body.

More than 325 enzymes in our bodies require magnesium to properly function. Magnesium stimulates nerve and muscle function, limits inflammation, and improves oxygenation and blood flow through the body. Deficiencies in magnesium can cause significant damage to nerves which manifest in symptoms associated with depression.
